12-15 November 2014 | American Literary Translators Association Conference

The ALTA Conference will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconson at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center Hotel.  This year’s keynote speaker is Christopher Merrill, an American poet, essayist, journalist and translator.  He is the Director of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa and was appointed to the U.S. National Commission for UNESCO in 2011.

The Conference is still calling for proposals.  The general theme for this year is politics and literary translation.  The relationship between the two subjects does not have to be a direct one.  Deadline for submission: May 15, 2014.

Information on this year’s ALTA Travel Fellowships is forthcoming.

ALTA was founded in 1978 at the University of Texas at Dallas.
