For those of you who are interested in literary translation, or are aspiring to be literary translators, Asymptote Journal may just be tailor-made for you. Asymptote aims to create an international online environment, in which translation of contemporary writing takes center stage. In line with it’s name, Asymptote takes the agreed viewthat translation “may never fully replicate the original in effect.” Instead the Journal is focused on the dynamic relationship between original material and their translations.
They are currently accepting submissions for their July 2014 issue. In particular, they are seeking translated fiction from Latin America. Maximum of 5,000 words.
Deadline: 15 May 2014
