Yes, indeed, it is that time of year again: April, National Poetry Month.
To celebrate this wonderful month-long experience of divine poetry reading and writing, poet Maureen Thorson has returned with NaPoWriMo to challenge us, aspiring and professional poets, to write a poem per day.
Since NaPoWriMo’s foundation in 2003, Thorson has been encouraging poets to take pen in hand or place fingers on keyboards and create a body of work over the course of April.
Considering that today is the 4th of April, participants should have or be in the process of penning their fourth poem. If you are interested in learning more about participating in this year’s event, visit NaPoWriMo.net.
To get the ball rolling and encourage you to start, we leave you with today’s entry by one of our creative writing students:
The water bottle
is never quite full, never
quite empty enough.
